MISSION

The Centre for Public History (CPH) uses scientific research, education and public interventions to promote the application of history for the benefit of society, in order to develop critical thinking about historical processes and build a culture of peace. In its work, the CPH uses an interdisciplinary approach and public history methodology, in order to bring the marginalised, insufficiently researched and obscured historical events of importance for today's society closer to the public.

The Centre for Public History, under its adopted organisation strategic plan, works on the development of two programme units through research, education and public events:

HOLOCAUST AND GENOCIDE

  • Killing sites
  • Anti-Semitism and anti-Gypsyism
  • Commemorations

CULTURE OF REMEMBRANCE

  • World War II and anti-fascism
  • Yugoslavia and the legacy of socialism
  • Disintegration of Yugoslavia
  • Resistance to war
